Massimo CAMPIGLI

“A pagan happiness entered into my paintings as much in the spirit of the subjects as in the spirit of the work which became freer and more lyrical”. With these words Campigli described his visit to the Museo Etrusco di Villa Giulia in Rome, in 1928. These words are the starting point for an exhibition that aims to be a dialogue between his most mature phase of his artistic production and the examples from which he drew inspiration.
